![]() ![]() ![]() What kind of photography do I do? I enjoy dabbling in every type of photography, from nature to models, casual to formal. Late in 2006 I started going with a new friend to model shoots that he had set up so that I could get my feet wet in that field. My goal in the field of photography is to make incredible pictures of scenes that not everyone will get the chance to see first hand, of situations that inspire and bring hope, and to make photographs that challenge what the individual thinks. Take for instance the Taj Mahal in India; I have never been there in person, but I certainly know what this unique structure looks like. This is the power of photography. It's easier to see that a photograph was made of something real, something tangible, something that we could go visit or re-create ourselves. This isn't always possible in other art mediums, and I think it is this reason that photography can be so awe inspiring, and at times even a bit terrifying. It is the re-creation of reality. Perhaps every true photographer has a sentimental side in them somewhere, a side that is a little less willing to keep its vision locked soley on what lies ahead. Every photograph preserves a tiny piece of someone or something's history, and that is a truly remarkable characteristic for something as subjective as art. |
